New app killed my subscription
I love this magazine. Purchase a subscription in December for a year. They changes the app and I lost my subscription that was set to expire in December 2015. I emailed support twice and did not get a response. I feel robbed.
Terrible. Would give no stars if possible.
WHY WHY WHY did these guys dump the Pixelmags app in exchange for this terrible app? It has all the flaws of the Racer Magazine app, only amplified. Lets start with the zoom feature. Its very unresponsive and slow, and you can only zoom in a tiny bit. Really pretty useless. Next up, app and issue load times. While Pixelmags is quick and painless, both to start the app and then to load an actual issue, this new app is painfully slow to load, as are the individual issues. Third, and most frustrating of all is the fact that the app does not save your last page location. I suppose I MIGHT understand this if you completely close out the app and restart it, but it forgets your page if you simply switch to another open app and then switch right back! The only way to ensure you dont have to go searching for the page you were JUST reading is to remember to bookmark it before exiting or switching to another app. Then if you dont take the extra steps to delete each bookmark you end up with a huge stack of bookmarks you dont need. Magazine readers have been available on the App Store for years. Theres absolutely no reason to release a bad reader these days just to save a few bucks. I downloaded one issue of the magazine to try it out and most definitely will NOT be subscribing. Had they stuck with Pixelmags they would have earned a new subscriber today. :-(
